“Now that I’m in the ecosystem, I have to use Dropbox,” said Vineet Kumar, a professor at Harvard Business School currently working on a study of the freemium business model. “It’s just more convenient than any other option. Whereas with a game, I could just consider the new game that’s just been introduced, and there’s no cost to switching to that game.”
